Professional Beaver and Otter Methods Walter Arnold was born in 1894. His father Alonzo was a market hunter.. from 1850 to 1890 during the time it was legal in Maine. Walter learned from his father the art of trapping.

He started a trapping supply business in 1918, one of the first in the lure business. Walter was a pioneer in the scent ingredient business. He was the first man to sell scent making ingredients to trappers in America. Originating the idea of grinding glands into musk he carried domestic, foreign musk and oils, plus the leading essential oils under one roof. Walter was well known as trapper, guide, writer and naturalist from 1920 until his death in 1980.
