Hello. I have 18 old very serviceable jump traps that Mark Steck calls well seasoned. I have wire brushed all " mung " from the traps. I plan on using Dakota Line water based dye on them. Should I subject these traps to a white vinegar bath with a good rinse to remove any active rust and some older rust before dying ? Thank you for your time !

If they already have a good coat of rust that isn't flaking off then just dip them that way.  Using the wire brush took care of the excess rust and the dip should take to the traps well.
